The adventure begins with the meeting between Mirko Croci, physicist and Andreas Meyer, industrial. The expectation of Andreas Meyer was to improve the plasma light technology. He uses it in solar testing and production equipment. Five years of research, in the Laboratory of Applied Physics and Emerging Technologies at HEIG-VD , headed by Prof. Dr. Mirko Croci, took place in collaboration with Solaronix. During these years many innovative solution were fund to increase the reliability of the light source. This technology is very promising because the light engine gives efficiently very high quality light and this without the use of mercury. A long life span and an energy efficiency of A-B render this promising candidate for today illumination needs.
